Terms & Conditions

A legal disclaimer

1. Safety & Compliance

  • Compliance Guarantee: Southern Network guarantees that all electrical work performed will, upon completion, meet the standards required by current UK regulations, specifically BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and relevant sections of the Building Regulations (Part P). This guarantee relates solely to the standard of work performed by Southern Network and not to pre-existing conditions or faults in the property's electrical system unless those systems were specifically part of the contracted work.

  • Certification: Where required by law, the necessary compliance certificates (e.g., Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate or Electrical Installation Certificate) will be issued upon satisfactory completion and full payment for the work. These certificates attest to the compliance of the new or modified installation only.

2. Service Efficiency and Cost

  • Cost Savings and Efficiency: Statements regarding the ability to "Save Money" or achieve "efficient solutions" are based on general industry knowledge and the proper installation of modern, functioning equipment. Southern Network does not guarantee specific or maximum reductions in a customer's utility bills, as actual savings depend on numerous factors outside of our control, including appliance usage, energy tariffs, and the general efficiency and maintenance of the customer's property.

  • Service Disruption: While Southern Network aims for "Minimal Hassle" and fast, reliable service, some level of disruption is inherent in electrical work. We commit to minimizing this disruption but cannot guarantee its complete absence. Service times are estimates and may be affected by unforeseen technical issues, material availability, or access difficulties.

3. Local Trust and Liability

  • Pricing and Advice: Southern Network commits to Transparent and honest pricing and clear advice. Quotes are based on the information and scope of work defined at the time of quotation. Any changes to the scope of work or unforeseen issues encountered during the service may result in adjusted pricing, which will be communicated to the client promptly.

  • Limitation of Liability: Southern Network's liability for any damages arising out of or in connection with the services provided, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, shall be limited to the cost paid for the specific services that gave rise to the claim, except where prohibited by law. Southern Network is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

  • Professional Conduct: We strive for "tidy, expert work." The client is responsible for removing valuable or fragile items from the work area prior to the commencement of service.
